Jamesmovedforward,hishandsraisedinacalminggesture.“Staystill,”hewhispered.“Don’tmakeanysuddenmovements.”

Lily’smindraced.Sheknewtheyhadtofindawaytoescape,butwiththebearblockingtheirpath,everyoptionseemedimpossible.Suddenly,shespottedasmallstreamnearby,itswaterglintinginthefadinglight.
