IftheLinkStationdoesntBootafteraHardDriveisInstalled

ThankyouforpurchasingaBualoLinkStation.

IfyouhaveinstalledaharddriveintheLinkStationbutitdoesntbootproperly,removethedrivefrom

theLinkStationandconnectittoaWindows7,Vista,orWindowsXPcomputer.Followtheprocedure

belowtoinitializethedrive.

1.First,shutdowntheWindowscomputerandconnectthedrivetoit.Youmayconnectthedrivetothe

computersSATAinterfaceoruseaUSB-SATAconverter(soldseparately).

2.Restartthecomputer.

3.Windows7:Click[Start],type“cmd”inthe[Searchprogramsandles]eld,andpresstheEnterkey.

WindowsVista:Click[Start],type“cmd”inthe[StartSearch]eld,andpresstheEnterkey.

WindowsXP:Click[Start],then[Run].Type“cmd”,thenclick[OK].

Thecommandpromptisdisplayed.

4.Type“diskpart”atthecommandpromptandpresstheEnterkey.Thediskpartconsolewillbedisplayed.

5.Type“listdisk”andpresstheEnterkey.Alistofdrivesdetectedonthecomputerwillbedisplayed.Findthe

drivethatwillbeusedbytheLinkStationandmakeanoteofthedrivenumber.

6.Type“selectdiskx”,where“x”isthenumberofthedrivefromthepreviousstep,andpresstheEnterkey.

7.Type“clean”andpresstheEnterkey.Theselecteddrivewillbeinitialized.

8.Type“exit”andpresstheEnterkey.Thisexitsdiskpart.

9.Shutdownthecomputerandremovethedrive.

Thedriveisnowinitialized.ReinstallitintheLinkStation.
