活动报道也包括新闻报道。即用概括性的叙述方式、简明扼要的文字，及时报道最近发生的新闻、赛事、活动等的一种应用文体。
活动报道一般由导语引入话题、主体中间段和结束语组成。时态采用一般过去时。
第一段
导语：一句话或一段话概述新闻或活动发生的时间、地点、人物、事件
第二段
主体：详细描写所报道的事实
第三段
结束语：对该事件进行简要总结、评价或预测
