Asamazingasthisstoryis,itisnotasuncommonasyoumaythink.TaketheexampleofCharlotteLeeandherhorse,Thunder.Onesummernight,thewholefamilywasasleepwiththewindowsopen.Itwasnormallyveryquiet.Suddenly,therewasaloudnoise.Charlottewokeupfromhersweetdream.andthenoisecontinued.Thensheheardahorserunningfasttowardsthehouse.ThenextthingshesawwasThunderstandingoutsideherwindow,neighing(嘶鸣)andshakinghishead.Shewasawareofsomethingwrong.Charlottequicklygoteveryoneoutofthehousebeforetheearthquakehit.Thunderhassavedthewholefamily’slives.

Therearealsostoriesofwildanimalscomingtotherescueofhumans.Oneanimalknownasafriendofhumansisthedolphin.Once,ToddEndriswassurfingwithhisfriendswhenhewasattackedbya13-foot(4-meter)shark.Inthemiddleoftheattack,agroupofdolphinscametohisrescuebyformingaprotectiveringaroundTodduntilhecouldgetsafelytotheshore.Withoutthehelpofthedolphins,thereislittlechancethatToddcouldhaveescaped.

Nooneissurewhyanimalshavesooftencometoourrescue.However,itisclearthathumansandanimalsenjoyacloserelationship.Itisimportantthatwecareforthemasmuchaswecan.
