1．Scope
ThisstandardcoversmaterialandperformancerequirementsapplicabletoTypeTR(threadrolling)tapping
screws,heattreatedtoachievepropertiescomparabletoGM500M(9.8)metricscrewsandGM275Minch
screwswithinductionhardenedpoints,insizes5mm(No.10inch)andlarger,whicharesuitableforusein
generalengineeringandstructuralattachments.
Note:ThisspecificationisintendedtosupersedethefollowingGMspecifications.GM6171M(a)formetric
TypeTRtappingscrewsinthe5through14mmsizesGM6010MforTypeTTtappingscrewsof5/16-18
inchandlargersizes.
1.适用范围
本标准规定自挤自攻螺钉的材料和性能要求，热处理后性能与GM500M（9.8）公制螺钉和GM275M带感
应淬火端的英寸螺钉相似，大小为5mm（No.10英寸）或更大，适用于一般工程使用和结构的附件。
注意：本标准替代以下的GM标准：GM6171M标准：大小为5-14mm的公制自挤自攻螺钉和GM6010M标准：
大小为5/16-18英寸或更大的自攻螺钉。
1．1MaterialDescription.
1.1.1MaterialIdentification.Whenselectingthelengthofscrewforanyapplication,itshouldbean
objectivetolocatetheinductionhardenedzonebeyondtheexitsideofthematingcomponentasdepicted
inFigure1,ortomaintainaminimumlengthofthreadengagementequaltofourfullformnon-indection
hardenedthreadsasillustratedinFigure2.
1.1.1.1Theperfromancevaluesspecifiedinthisstandardarenotvalidfordesignuseunlessallconditions
oftheapplicationareidenticaltothecombinationoflaboratoryconditionsdescribedinthetesting
procedure.
1.1材料描述
1.1.1材料的识别。为设备选择螺钉长度的时候，应该以设备作为参照物来确定感应淬火的位置，如
图1所示，在匹配部件的出口之外，或如图2所示，保持拧入螺纹的最小长度等于四个完整的非感应
淬火螺纹。
1.1.1.1本标准中的性能值在设计中无效，除非所有使用条件和实验室的测试条件一样。
