1.1Purpose.
1.1.1Test1.TorqueTensionReuse(TTR)istestedtodeterminethedynamictorque/tensioncharacteristicsofthethreaded
fastenerjointforin-servicewheelattachments.Thisprocedurebeginswithnewcomponents(wheels,nuts,andstuds)and
performstighteningiterationsperthespecifiedschedule.
1.1.2Test2:TorqueTensionReuseAbuse(TTRA)istestedtounderstandthepotentialperformanceinthefieldofajointthatis
overtightened.ThistestisperformedwiththesameprocessasTorqueTensionReuseexceptthatTTRAistestedat60Nmover
thespecifiedservicetorque.
1.2Applicability.Unlessotherwisespecified,thisprocedureappliestoin-servicewheelattachmenttighteningvents.Thisstandard
doesnotapplytopulseorimpacttools.Unlessotherwisespecified,anyrequirementsordirectionprovidedinthetestrequest
documentationwillsupercedethistestprocedure.
1.2.1RoadWheels.Thetotalnumberoftighteningiterationsshallbetwenty-five(25).Theinitialrundownofjointsistousenew
threadedfastenerswithnewthreadandbearingsurfacesandnewclampedmembers,andthenapplytwenty-four(24)additional
rundownsonthesamecomponents.
1.2.2CompactTemporaryUseSpareWheels.Thetotalnumberoftighteningiterationsshallbeten(10).Theinitialrundownof
