NormanBethuneisoneofthemostfamousheroesinChina.HewasaCanadiandoctor.HecametoChinatohelptheChinesepeopleanddiedforthem.;NormanBethunewasbornin1890.Hebecameadoctorin1916andwenttoSpainin1936totreatthewoundedsoldiersduringthewarthere.Hesoonrealisedthatmanypeopleweredyingbecausetheydidnotgettohospitalquicklyenough.;DrBethunedevelopednewwaysoftakingcareofthesick.Heinventedspecialmedicaltoolstouseoutsidehospitalsandclosetothefightingareassothatdoctorscouldtreatthewoundedmorequickly.Hisinventionssavedmanylives.;In1938,DrBethunecametoChinaandhelpedtreatthewoundedduringtheAnti-JapaneseWar.Atthattime,therewerefewdoctors,sohehadtoworkveryhardonhisown.HisexperienceoftreatingpeopleinSpainwasusefulinChina.;Hedevelopedtrainingcoursesforlocaldoctorsandnurses;andwrotebookssothattheycouldlearnabouthowhetreatthesick.;DrBethuneoftenworkedveryhardwithoutrestingortakingcareofhimself.Once,heevenworkedforsixty-ninehourswithoutstoppingandmanagedtosaveoverahundredlives.Onedayin1939,hecuthisfingerduringanoperation,buthecontinuedhisworkwithouttreatingit.Intheend,hediedofhiswound.;DrBethune’sworkfortheChinesepeoplemadehimaheroinChina.Therearemanybooksandfilmsabouthim,andheisstillrememberedinbothChinaandCanadatoday.;1.足够快
