Goodevening!Itisanhonortostandbeforeyoutodayandsharewithyousomethoughtsandreflectionsonthestateofournationandtheworldwelivein.Asahost,Ihavehadtheprivilegeoftravelingtomanyplaces,meetingpeoplefromdiversebackgrounds,andwitnessingthebeautyandchallengesofourworld.Today,Iwanttotalkaboutunity,resilience,andthepowerofhope.
Firstandforemost,letustalkaboutunity.Intodaysworld,wearemoreconnectedthaneverbefore.Technologyhasbroughtusclosertogether,allowingustoshareideas,experiences,andemotionsinstantaneously.However,despitethisunprecedentedlevelofconnectivity,wefindourselvesmoredividedthaneverbefore.Political,social,andculturaldivisionshavedeepened,leadingtoconflicts,misunderstandings,andevenhatred.
Unityisnotjustaboutbeingonthesamesideoragreeingwithoneanother.Itisaboutunderstandingandrespectingthedifferencesthatmakeusunique.Itisaboutfindingcommongroundandworkingtogethertoachieveacommongoal.AsAmericans,wehavealonghistoryofunity,fromthefightforindependencetothecivilrightsmovement.Wehaveovercomemanychallengestogether,andwecandoitagain.
Oneofthegreatestchallengeswefacetodayistheclimatecrisis.TheEarthiswarmingatanunprecedentedrate,andtheconsequencesaredire.Wemustcometogetherasanationandasaglobalcommunitytoaddressthiscrisis.Wemustinvestinrenewableenergy,reduceourcarbonfootprint,andprotectournaturalresources.Wemustalsosupportdevelopingcountriesintheireffortstoadapttothechangingclimate.
Anotherchallengewefaceisinequality.Incomeinequality,racialinequality,andgenderinequalityareallissuesthatneedtobeaddressed.Wemustworktogethertocreateamorejustandequitablesociety.Thismeansinvestingineducation,healthcare,andsocialservices.Itmeansensuringthateveryonehasaccesstoopportunit
