Theprizeisopentowomenaged18+whoareunagentedandwritinginEnglish.Youdon’tneedafinishednoveltoenter,justanovelthathasbeenstarted.Theprizeisfreetoenterandseeksworkwithpotential,notnecessarilypolisheddrafts.Writerswhohavepreviouslyenteredandcontinuedworkingontheirstoriesareencouragedtoapply.Submissionsareopenfrom19September2024to13January2025.Thelonglistandshortlistwillbeannouncedinspring2025,withthewinnerrevealedon29May2025.

TheFirstPrizewinnerwillreceiverepresentationbyCurtisBrownLiteraryAgencyand￡5,000.Onepromisingwriter,the“DiscoveriesScholar”,willalsowinascholarshipfortheWritingYourNovelcoursewithCurtisBrownCreative(worth￡1,800).AllsixshortlistedauthorswillmeetwithaCurtisBrownagent,getafreeplaceonasix-weekonlinewritingcourse,andparticipateinaworkshopwithAudibleonwritingandrecordingforsound.

All16longlistedauthorswillreceiveatwo-weekDiscoveriesWritingDevelopmentcourse,designedbyCurtisBrownCreativeandtaughtbyCharlotteMendelson,inJuneandJuly2025.ThecoursewillincludeZoomlessons,writingexercises,groupdiscussions,andaone-to-onetutorialwithCharlotte,endingwithasessionwithCurtisBrownliteraryagents.
