LadiesandGentlemen,
Goodmorning/afternoon.ItiswithgreathonorandimmensepleasurethatIstandbeforeyoutodaytoaddressthetopicofCelebratingtheExtraordinary:TheVirtuesofOutstandingIndividuals.Aswegatherhere,wearesurroundedbycountlessexamplesofindividualswhohaveleftanindeliblemarkontheworld,inspiringuswiththeircourage,resilience,andunwaveringdedication.Today,Iwanttotakeamomenttoreflectonthequalitiesthatdefinetheseextraordinaryindividualsandtheimpacttheyhaveonourlives.
Firstandforemost,letusacknowledgetheimportanceofcourage.Courageisnottheabsenceoffear,butthetriumphoverit.Outstandingindividualsarethosewhofaceadversityhead-on,unafraidtochallengethestatusquoandpursuetheirdreams.WeseethisinthelivesofgreatleaderslikeNelsonMandela,whofoughtagainstapartheidinSouthAfrica,andMalalaYousafzai,whostoodupfortherighttoeducationforgirlsinPakistan.Theircouragehasinspiredmillionstostandupforwhatisright,eveninthefaceofimmensedanger.
Anothervitalqualitythatdefinesextraordinaryindividualsisresilience.Lifeisfullofchallenges,anditisthroughresiliencethatweovercometheseobstacles.IndividualslikeThomasEdison,whofailednumeroustimesbeforeinventingthelightbulb,andJ.K.Rowling,whofacedrejectionafterrejectionbeforebecomingaglobalphenomenon,remindusthatsuccessisoftentheresultofperseverance.Resilienceistheabilitytobouncebackfromsetbacks,tolearnfromourmistakes,andtocontinuestrivingforgreatness.
