Firstandforemost,IwanttoexpressmydeepestgratitudetotheAmericanpeoplefortheirunwaveringsupportandlove.Asanation,wehavefacedmanychallenges,butitisourunityandresiliencethathavealwaysbroughtusbackstronger.Iamgratefulforthecountlessindividualswhohavereachedouttome,offeringtheirprayers,wordsofencouragement,andactsofkindness.Thesemomentshavebeenincrediblytouchingandhavefilledmyheartwithhope.
AstheFirstLady,Ihavehadtheprivilegeoftravelingacrossthecountry,visitingcommunitiesthatembodythetruespiritofAmerica.Ihaveseenthefacesofhardworkingindividuals,families,andchildrenwhoarestrivingtoachievetheirdreams.ItistheirstoriesthatinspiremetocontinuemyworkandtofightforabrighterfutureforallAmericans.
OneofthecorevaluesthatIholddearistheimportanceofunity.Inaworldthatisoftendividedbypolitics,religion,andculturaldifferences,itiscrucialthatwecometogetherasonenationunderGod.AsAmericans,wehaveauniqueopportunitytosetanexamplefortherestoftheworldbypromotingtolerance,understanding,andcompassion.
Ibelievethatloveisthegreatestforceintheuniverse.Ithasthepowertohealwounds,bridgegaps,andbringpeopletogether.Throughoutmylife,Ihavewitnessedthetransformativepowerofloveincountlessways.Whetheritisthelovebetweenaparentandchild,ahusbandandwife,orafriendandafriend,lovehasthepowertochangetheworld.
