China’sintelligentconnectedvehicleindustry,whichstrivestointegratevehicleswithroadandcloudcomputing,hasmovedtoanewstagefeaturingrapidtechnologicalandecologicaldevelopment,insteadofasmall-scaletestingstage,accordingtowhitepaperreleasedbytheNationalInnovationCenterofIntelligentandConnectedVehicles(CICV).

Itaddedthatatechnologyroadmapfortop-leveldesignisneededattheseventhWorldIntelligenceCongress(WIC)heldinnorthChina’sTianjinMunicipalityfromThursdaytoSaturday.

Chinaispromotingthecommercialapplicationofitsintelligentconnectedvehicles.Untilnow,thecountryhasbuiltsevenpilotzonesoftheInternetofvehicles,16pilotcitiesforcoordinateddevelopmentofsmartcityinfrastructureandsmartconnectedvehicles,and17national-leveldemonstrationbasestotestintelligentconnectedcars.

MiaoChangxing,anofficialfromtheMinistryofIndustryandInformation,saidonTuesdayinBeijingthatover2,000roadtestanddemonstrationapplicationlicenseshavebeenissuedand10,000kilometersofroadopenedtotestdriverlessvehicles.

Newoutputvalueoftheintelligentconnectedvehicleindustrywillreach1.06trillionyuan(about$151billion)by2025,and2.8trillionyuan(about$398.5billion)by2030,saidZhengJihu,directoroftheCICV.

Zhengaddedthatdevelopingtheindustrytakesaverycomplicatedprocess,whichrequirestheintegratedandcoordinatedadvanceofvehicles,roadsideinfrastructure,cloudcontrolplatforms,telecommunicationnetworks,mapsforhigh-precisionpositioningandsecurityprotectionsystems.
