:Acircularlypolarized(CP)aperture-coupledmagneto-electric(ME)dipoleantennaappliedtomilli-

meterwavewasproposedinthispaper.TheCPME-dipoleantennafedbyatransverseslotetchedonthebroad

wallofasectionofshorted-endsubstrateintegratedwaveguide(SIW)wasconvenienttointegrateintosub-

strates.Thewholestructurewascomposedoffourverticalmetallicpinsandfourhorizontalpatches.Theplanar

electricdipolewasattributedtothetwopairsofhorizontalpatches,whilethemagneticdipoleisrealizedbythe

aperturebetweenthepatches.InordertogenerateCPradiation,anadditionalmetallicstripwasintroducedto

connecttwopatchsectionslocatedatdiagonalpositions.Besides,theinnercornersoftheotherpairofpatch

sectionswerecutpartially.Basedonthestableunidirectionalradiationpatternsoftheantennaelement,an8×8

high-ainwidebandplanarantennaarraywasproposedfor60GHzmillimeterwaveapplications.Themeasuredg

impedancebandwidthofthefabricatedprototypewas23.3%for|S11|<-10dB.BecauseofthewideAR

bandwidthofthenewantennaelement,awideARbandwidthof20.2%couldbeachievedbythisarray.Gainup

to25.2dBicandgoodradiationefficiencyofaround71.5%werealsoobtainedduetotheuseofafull-corporate

SIWfeednetwork.
