一、Introduction
1.BackgroundofInterventionalRadiology
Interventionalradiology,aspecializedfieldwithinthedisciplineofradiology,hasrevolutionizedtheapproachtodiagnosingandtreatingvariousmedicalconditions.Thissubspecialtyutilizesminimallyinvasivetechniquestoperformawiderangeofprocedures,includingangioplasty,stentplacement,andtumorembolization.Theprimarygoalofinterventionalradiologyistodelivertreatmentsdirectlytotheaffectedarea,minimizingdamagetosurroundingtissuesandreducingtheneedforextensivesurgery.Overthepastfewdecades,interventionalradiologyhasbecomeanintegralpartofthehealthcaresystem,offeringpatientsmoreeffectiveandlessinvasivetreatmentoptions.
Theevolutionofinterventionalradiologycanbetracedbacktothemid-20thcenturywhenthefirstangioplastyprocedureswereperformed.Initially,theseprocedureswerelimitedtodiagnosingandtreatingvasculardiseases,suchasatherosclerosisandaneurysms.However,astechnologyadvanced,interventionalradiologistsbegantoexpandtheirscopeofpracticetoincludetreatmentsforvariousotherconditions,suchascancer,uterinefibroids,andvaricoseveins.Thisexpansionhasbeenmadepossiblebythedevelopmentofnewimagingtechniques,suchascomputedtomography(CT),magneticresonanceimaging(MRI),andultrasound,whichprovidereal-timevisualizationofthepatientsanatomyduringprocedures.
Theintegrationofinterventionalradiologyintothemedicalfieldhashadaprofoundimpactonpatientcare.Byofferingminimallyinvasivealternativestotraditionalopensurgeries,interventionalradiologyhassignificantlyreducedrecoverytimes,hospitalstays,andcomplications.Additionally,theprecisionofinterventionalradiologyprocedureshasledtoimprovedoutcomesforpatientswithawiderangeofconditions.Forexample,inthecaseofcancertreatment,interventio
