1．hundredsof意为“许多；大量”。
eg：Hundredsofbirdsflyinthesky.许多鸟儿在空中飞翔。
【拓展】①hundred百，thousand千，million百万，billion十亿等数词，当前面有具体数字时，其后不加-s，也不和of连用。

②若表示一个不确定的数字，前面没有具体数字时，其后要加-s，而且与of连用。

【助记】模糊数字两有(有s有of)，具体数字两无(无s无of)。
2．some...others...意为“(许多人或物中的)一些……另一些(并非全部)……”。
eg：Therearealotofpeopleinthepark.Somearerunning，andothersareflyingkites.公园里有许多人。一些人在跑步，另一些人在放风筝。
3．falldown意为“突然倒下；跌倒；倒塌”。
eg：Babiesoftenfalldownwhentheylearntowalk.婴儿在学走路时经常会摔倒。
Thetowerprobablywillnotfalldown.这座塔也许不会倒塌。
4．【辨析】lookfor与find
①lookfor意为“寻找”，强调“找”的过程和动作；
②find意为“找到”，强调“找”的结果。
eg：WearelookingforMillie，butwecantfindher.我们正在寻找米莉，但找不到她。
5．possible形容词，意为“可能存在或发生的；可能的”，其反义词为impossible，意为“不可能存在或发生的；不可能的”。其副词possibly意为“可能地”。
【拓展】as...aspossible意为“尽可能地……”，两个as中间用形容词或副词原级。
